Waldwick, NJ, USA and Dubai, UAE — The Celebration of Healthcare Heroes, held on the opening night of World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai 2026 and presented by Kallman Worldwide and American Hospital Dubai, will proudly honor Dr. Hyung Seok Nam for his innovative work in rehabilitative medicine.

Taking place on February 9, 2026, beneath the iconic Al Wasl Plaza dome at Expo City Dubai, the event brings together healthcare leaders, government officials, and key influencers for an evening dedicated to recognizing those who are shaping the future of healthcare. The event is uniquely designed to inspire young students from across the UAE who will be present, offering them the rare opportunity to interact with role models whose lives and careers exemplify courage, purpose, and impact — real-life superheroes.

Dr. Hyung Seok Nam chose a path in medicine that begins where many stories end. When illness or injury changes a life forever, he is the physician who steps in to help patients build a future. As a specialist in rehabilitation medicine, he focuses on recovery: restoring movement, independence, and confidence one step at a time.

Trained at leading medical institutions and shaped by years of clinical experience, Dr. Nam became a bridge between science and humanity. His work spans neurological recovery, stroke rehabilitation, and the treatment of complex physical impairments. Through research and innovation, he helped transform how medicine understands healing—not as a single moment, but as a process that unfolds through patience, precision, and care.

Dr. Nam is also an innovator. By integrating advanced technologies such as robotic rehabilitation systems, wearable sensors, and data-driven analysis, he helped patients relearn how to move and clinicians better understand how recovery happens. His scientific contributions, shared and cited worldwide, have influenced rehabilitation practices far beyond the walls of any single hospital.

Equally important, Dr. Nam is a teacher. As a mentor and leader in medical education, he has trained future physicians and healthcare professionals to see recovery as a mission worth pursuing. Through teaching, his impact multiplies—reaching patients he may never meet, through hands he has helped guide.

“Healthcare isn’t just a career,” said Dr. Nam. “It’s a chance to help the world move forward. The intersection of technology and medicine is an exciting field. There is so much yet to be discovered and the next generation will get to be a part of that.”

In the world of heroes, Dr. Nam reminds us that strength is not only found in saving lives, but in helping people reclaim them. His story proves that healing is both an art and a science—and that the greatest heroes are those who help the world move forward.

Dr. Nam is Consultant Physician at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and as an Associate Professor at Seoul National University Hospital. His prior appointments include Medical Director of a rehabilitation center in Korea, Clinical Assistant Professor at Seoul National University Hospital, and Visiting Scholar in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Stanford University.

The Celebration of Healthcare Heroes is hosted by Kallman Worldwide, organizer of the U.S. industry presence at WHX Dubai for 31 years, as part of its CSR initiative, Kallman Foundation. The event is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to inspiring young people around the world to follow their dreams and build the pipeline of future STEM leaders.
